On August 25 and 26 the crew of the expedition participated in two ceremonies – with the Spanish Geographic Society and at the City Hall of La Coruña. After the official part, Pedro Mourinho took Eugene and Stanislav to Puerto de O Vicedo, where they had to leave the ship for a while because of the breakdown of the trimaran.
The mayor of Puerto de O Vicedo, Jesús Novo, personally vouched for the trimaran, and the travelers were able to go to their appointments in La Coruña.Back in Vicedo in the afternoon of August 26, the sailors set the rigging and prepared the trimaran for departure to Vigo. Jesús showed the travelers a local landmark with the interesting name of The Nose of the Pig. The cliff got this name because the view from the ocean visually reminds of this part of the animal’s muzzle.
On the evening of August 26 the trimaran Russian Ocean Way left the shore of Puerto de O Vicedo. The expedition continues sailing through Galicia, the autonomous region of Spain, and is on course for Vigo. According to the members of the expedition, they plan to arrive in Vigo in the morning of August 28. The travelers have been accompanied by dense fog for 24 hours.
The expedition crew and the Coastal Center are grateful to the Mayor of Puerto de O Vicedo Jesus Novo and the Honorary Consul of Russia in Galicia Pedro Mourinho. Eugene Kovalevskiy and Stanislav Berezkin report operational information to the Coastal Center of the expedition.
