On October 5, the expedition crew moored to Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The trimaran loosed the moorings at the marina Dársena Pesquera. A new participant from Russia whose name is Ildar will join the crew here. For Alexander Kirikov and Dobrynya Kirikov the voyage is over, and they are going to set off to Tomsk soon.
It took 5 days for the trimaran to sail from Rabat, Morocco to Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The round-the-world expedition came to the Island today, October 5 at 9:30 am local time. According to Evgeny Kovalevsky, that part of the ocean turned out to be challenging due to relentless strong wind (gusting to 20-30 knots) and high traffic. It was necessary to be more concentrated during the nights since there was the risk of collision with large meeting ships. The trimaran was going 5-9 knots with maximum wave height of 3 meters.
During the passage, on the night of 3/4 October the trimaran passed the mark of 3000 miles.
Evgeny Kovalevsky and Stanislav Berezkin report the latest update to the Shore-based centre of the expedition.
