The documentary film «Around the World on a Catamaran. The adventures of five Russians in three oceans» is shot with the grant support of the Russian Geographical Society and tells about the unique Russian expedition — the first in the world round-the-world trip on an inflatable sailing catamaran.
During several stages from 2006 to 2013 on an unusual sailing ship travelers from Siberia visited 40 countries, set five world records and fulfilled scientific tasks of the Russian Geographical Society, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology and other organizations.
«Our film tells not only about a great and important voyage for science, but also about the ability of man to survive in extreme conditions. We spent two years living in the ocean: fighting hurricane winds and huge waves, overcame wild heat, clashed with pirates and wild tribes, defended ourselves from shark attacks, patched holes right on the move and landed on uninhabited islands, «- said one of the expedition participants Eugene Kovalevsky.
The story of the fascinating journey in the film is led by the expedition members from Siberia. Earlier, they also presented the picture at the Moscow House of Cinema.
